Types & forms

Fully cooked beef frankfurters

Check that the label specifies beef and a fully cooked product; long and cocktail sizes can both be sliced.

What to look for when buying

  • In the US, look for fully cooked beef franks or beef hot dogs. Packages and individual link sizes vary; use the recipe amount rather than assuming one pack is one batch.
  • In Türkiye, look for dana sosis and check the preparation instructions. Long, cocktail and hot-dog packs have different net weights. Check ingredients and allergens on the actual packet.

Prepare & cook

  • Follow the package preparation instructions. Slice evenly for pan dishes. Use a recipe intended for raw sausage if your product requires cooking from raw.

Store it well

  • Keep refrigerated as directed on the package and follow its use-by and after-opening instructions.
