We built Taste of Türkiye to be a friendly companion in your kitchen. That’s why we’ve spent so much time working through Turkish and US kitchen measurements, created Cook Mode to guide you step by step, and designed filters that take just a few taps on your phone. There’s a lot here, and we don’t want you to miss what could make cooking easier. Open Navigation to find your way around with filters and breadcrumbs, or Features to explore the cooking tools.
01
Navigation
Find your way around our four main sections, get to know the filters, and follow the breadcrumbs whenever you want to go back.⌄
You might be browsing on your phone, with a dinner idea in mind and little patience for typing. We designed the filters to let a few taps do more of the work: choose a dish type, an ingredient group, a cooking technique, or a region. The same familiar pattern follows you through all four sections, so you can spend more time discovering and less time working out where to go.
Use Menu in the header to open Recipes, Ingredients, Cooking Skills, or Explore Türkiye. Each section has its own content, with similar search and filter controls.
Find your way back with breadcrumbs
One page can lead you to another: a recipe sparks a question, an ingredient catches your eye, and soon you’re exploring something new. The breadcrumbs near the top are there to keep you oriented. They show where you are, from Home to the page you’re reading; select a linked step to go back to that part of the site. The logo always takes you Home, and the footer keeps About, Contact, Newsletter, and Privacy within reach.
Learn the pattern once. Use it in all four sections.
On a small screen, a row of familiar icons can be easier than typing a detailed search. That’s why we built a filtering pattern you can learn once and use across the site. Tap a group to narrow things down, then add search words only when you want to be more specific.
1
Choose an icon
The row groups the content: dish types, ingredient groups, techniques, or regions. Select an icon to narrow the list.
2
Add a search
Use the search box to find something within that section. A search and a category filter can work together.
3
Broaden your view
Choose All to remove the category filter. Use Clear search to remove your search words. The two controls clear different parts of your selection.
When you search, numbers under the icons show matching results. A grayed-out icon has no matches for that search. Use the information icon to show or hide names under the icons.
The search box
Search with words, or include and exclude ingredients when looking for recipes.⌄
Sometimes a category gets you close, but you already have something more specific in mind. Perhaps you want to use the tomatoes you have at home, or find a recipe without onion. We gave recipe search a little extra flexibility so you can describe what you want to include and what you want to leave out in the same box.
In any of the four sections, type what you’re looking for in its search box. Your search works with the category you’ve selected.
In Recipes, put + directly before an ingredient word to include it, or - directly before an ingredient word to exclude it. Use one word after each sign, with no space between the sign and the ingredient.
+tomato -onion
This finds recipes that list tomato and leaves out recipes that list onion. You can combine ingredient terms with ordinary search words.
Use Clear search to remove your search words. Choose All separately if you also want to remove the category filter.
Recipes
Find a dish to cook, then open its ingredients, instructions, and Cook Mode.⌄
Some days you know the dish you want. Other days you just know it’s time for soup, breakfast, or something sweet. Recipes gives you both ways in: search for a dish or choose a type, then open a recipe when something catches your eye.

Show labels
The information icon shows names under the filter icons. Choose Hide labels to return to icons alone. This control is available in all four sections.
Ingredients
Get to know the ingredients used in the recipes and open their individual guides.⌄
An unfamiliar ingredient shouldn’t stop a recipe in its tracks. We gave ingredients their own guides so you can pause, get to know what you’re working with, and return to cooking a little more confident. Browse a group or search for the ingredient you have in mind.

Features
Make the most of Cook Mode, language choices, kitchen settings, and the little tools that make recipes easier to use.⌄
There’s more to a recipe than reading it. These features help you cook along, choose the language and kitchen settings that suit you, and keep or share the dishes you love. Pick a topic below to get started.
Cook Mode
Follow a recipe one step at a time, with ingredients and available timers close at hand.⌄
You’ve picked a recipe, gathered your ingredients, and started cooking. Now your hands are busy, and scrolling back through a whole page to find your place is the last thing you need. We created Cook Mode to make this part easier: one step at a time, with ingredients and available timers nearby, so you can stay with the cooking.
Open a recipe that offers Cook Mode and select Cook Mode in its recipe tools.
Use the step controls to move through the instructions. Open the ingredient panel when you need to check an ingredient.
Where a step has a timer, you can start, pause, resume, or reset it. Keep screen awake is available in supported browsers. Leave Cook Mode to return to the recipe. Browser and device settings affect screen wake and alerts.
Keep browsing as you scroll
More recipes appear as you move down the list.⌄
You’re browsing recipes, and the next dish might be the one that catches your eye. We don’t want a Next or Load more button to keep interrupting that little journey. More matching recipes load automatically as you scroll down, so you can keep exploring with a swipe instead of stopping to ask for another page.
Open Recipes, choose any filters or search words you want, and scroll down. When there are more results, the next recipes load as you continue browsing.
You can pause automatic loading and resume it when you’re ready. Load more is also available if you prefer to control when the next recipes appear.
English & Turkish
Read the site in either language. The language choice and kitchen setting are separate.⌄
A dish name might feel familiar in Turkish while its instructions feel easier to follow in English—or the other way around. We want you to read in the language that feels comfortable. The language choices in the header let you move between the two without having to begin your search again.
Select the US flag for English or the Turkish flag for Turkish in the header.
The language link opens the corresponding page when a translation is available. A grayed-out language option means that page is unavailable in that language.
Changing the language changes the text you read. You can still choose either kitchen setting on recipes that offer US kitchen and TR kitchen amounts.
US kitchen & Turkish kitchen
Choose ingredient amounts written for the kitchen you use, independently of the page language.⌄
The language you read and the kitchen you cook in don’t have to match. You might enjoy a Turkish recipe in English while reaching for the measuring tools you use at home. We separated kitchen settings from language so you can choose the recipe’s US or Turkish kitchen amounts without changing the words you’re reading.
Find the US kitchen and TR kitchen choices above the ingredient list on recipes that offer them. This choice is on the recipe, not in Menu.
Select US kitchen for the recipe’s US kitchen amounts or TR kitchen for its Turkish kitchen amounts. The ingredient quantities and measurement labels update; the page language stays the same.
Your explicit kitchen choice is remembered in this browser and follows you to other recipes. Some older recipes offer Metric and US controls instead; use the choices shown on that recipe.
Saved recipes
Keep recipes you want to return to.⌄
You spot a dish you’d love to try, just not tonight. Instead of hoping you’ll remember its name later, give it a heart. Saved recipes is your little collection of dishes to come back to in this browser.
Select the heart on a recipe to save it. Select it again to remove that save.
Open Saved recipes using the heart in the Recipes filter row. Saves are stored in this browser and do not sync between devices.
Recipe ratings
Share how a recipe worked for you with a one-to-five-star rating.⌄
You’ve cooked a dish, and now you have a little experience that could help the next person choose what to make. That’s why we added recipe ratings: a simple way to pass that experience along. The rating summary shows the average score and how many ratings the recipe has received, while your selected stars show the score you gave it.
After trying a recipe, find its rating section and select the score you want to give, from one to five stars. You can use the star buttons with a mouse, touch, or keyboard.
Wait for the saved confirmation. The summary updates with the new average and rating count. If saving fails, an error message tells you the rating wasn’t saved so you can try again.
To change your rating, select another star in the same browser. This updates your earlier score rather than adding a second rating. Your browser remembers your selection when browser storage is available.
Print a recipe
Use a paper copy in the kitchen.⌄
Sometimes the easiest thing to have beside the stove is a sheet of paper. Print gives you that option, so you can bring the recipe into the kitchen in the way that suits you. Your browser also lets you save a PDF when you want a copy for later.
Open the recipe and select Print in its recipe tools.
Your browser opens its print dialog. Choose a printer or a PDF destination, check the preview, and confirm.
Share a recipe
Send someone a link to the recipe.⌄
Someone asks what you’re making, or a recipe makes you think of a friend. Share is the shortcut from that thought to a conversation: send the recipe link so they can open the same dish and explore it for themselves.
Open the recipe and select Share in its recipe tools.
Use your browser’s sharing options. If sharing is unavailable, the site copies the link to your clipboard. If clipboard access is blocked, it shows a link you can copy manually.
Accessibility
Different ways to explore, with clear labels and keyboard-friendly controls.⌄
There isn’t just one way to explore a recipe. You might use a keyboard, rely on assistive technology, or find your way more easily with clear labels and headings. We want you to feel welcome whichever way you browse. That’s why we use structured headings, labeled controls, visible keyboard focus, and expandable topics that you can open without a mouse.
Press Tab to move forward through links and controls, or Shift + Tab to move back. A visible outline shows which item has keyboard focus.
In this Help outline, press Enter or Space on a topic to open or close it. Once it is open, use Tab to reach the links inside.
